“Honor Magic4 Pro: Experience the Magic with This Comprehensive Review!”

Honor Magic 4 Pro: A High-End Flagship with Google Support

The Honor Magic 4 Pro is a camera-centric flagship that has recently gone global. With its Google support, it could give other high-end Western market phones a run for their money. In this full review, we’ll find out if it has what it takes to stand out.

Design and Display

The phone boasts of a stunning display – a 6.81-inch LTPO OLED display with a QHD resolution and an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate. The screen is not just curved – it’s quad curved, making it an eye-catching feature of the phone. The Magic 4 Pro brings proper ingress protection, too- IP68 rated against water and dust.

The display is quite sharp at 460ppi, and contrasty too thanks to the OLED technology. Colors are decently accurate and can be customized based on the settings dial. There’s HDR10+ support, as well as the ability to enhance SDR content to HDR in Netflix and Youtube.

One thing that people might not be fans of though is the cutout for the dual selfie cams. This pill-shaped punch hole houses a 12MP camera and a 3D ToF sensor. At least it’s a bit smaller than the one on last year’s model. On the back, there are three cameras arranged in an eyecatching circular design that Honor calls the “eye of muse”.

Performance and Battery Life

The Honor Magic 4 Pro runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset that delivers excellent performance comparable to other high-end phones. It may experience some thermal throttling in testing, but it’s not as stable as a dedicated gaming phone.

The phone comes with a 4600 mAh battery capacity. The battery life is lackluster, with an endurance score of just 82 hours in our battery life tests. However, the advanced charging capability makes up for it. The phone comes with a huge 100 watt adapter in the box. With the bundled adapter, we were able to charge the Magic 4 Pro from 0 to full in half an hour! The phone also supports 100W FAST charging, although the charging pad and adapter are sold separately.

Cameras

The Honor Magic 4 Pro has a 50MP main cam with OIS, a 64MP, 3.5 times telephoto with OIS, and a 50MP ultrawide cam that can take macro shots. There are also several other sensors like dToF sensor, an anti-flicker sensor, and a color spectrum sensor. The main camera delivers outstanding daylight photos with impressive details, moderate sharpening, low noise, and excellent dynamic range. Portraits from the main cam and depth sensor are pleasant with accurate separation. The telephoto’s zoomed photos are excellent in quality with impressive detail, vibrant colors, and wide dynamic range. The ultrawide cam delivers great performance too. However, in less-than-ideal conditions, you will notice some softness.
